How many minutes do you think you spend every day applying multiple coats of mascara to get the lash colour you want? Add to that the number of minutes you also spend painstakingly drawing individual hairs into each of your eyebrows. Now consider this - in less time than it takes you to do all of that for a couple morning in a row, you could have precisely the colour you want as soon as you open your eyes each morning.
Lash and brow tinting are great time saving beauty tricks. When done by a trained cosmetologist, they are safe alternatives to manually applying colour each day. For lashes, the semi-permanent, vegetables-based dye is applied with a single-use, disposable mascara wand. The dye is then left to set for three to five minutes before you aesthetician wipes off the residue with a damp towel. For brows, the dye is typically a little stronger, known as demi-permanent,and it will set for ten to twenty minutes.
The results of a lash and brow tinting procedure can lash up to three months. To get the most from your treatment, avoid using alpha hydroxy exfoliants and glycolic acid cleaners that can strip out the color more quickly. If you wear contacts, be sure to remove them prior to your appointment, and wait until the next day to put them back in. If you want more texture for your lashes, you can still add mascara over the tint for more drama.
